My first year students were supposed to write an introduction of somebody they know or somebody famous to practice third person conjugations. It fell to me to make a model for them to follow, so they could get the idea. I chose to introduce Winnie the Pooh.
So far, at least a dozen sheets have been returned to me that begin with some variant of, "This is Winnie the Keiko Sugiyama." I suppose this is what happens when students understand neither the assignment nor the language, and don't know that our hunny-loving friend has a name other than "Pooh."

Will thinks this post is rather old-school.Comments
